The editorially-led publication has one simple objective – to champion the local economy, and celebrate the county’s amazing business success stories.
Company expansions, new product launches, key appointments, international trade deals . . . they’re all a vital part of the mix.
But the magazine is much more. It blends an award-winning team of local journalists with experts in their field, who share crucial advice on industry trends, from manufacturing to marketing, and much more besides.
Shropshire Business is published by Wiggly Worm Media, owned and operated by multiple award-winning local media experts Carl Jones and Henry Carpenter.
Carl, a former assistant editor of the Shropshire Star, now works across print, radio and television as well as hosting events such as the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards, and edits the magazine.
Henry, who edited Shropshire Magazine for many years before launching his own media consultancy, takes the lead on the magazine’s accompanying website.
They are backed up by a team of talented designers and consultants with decades of experience in the industry.
Carl said: “I’ve been working in the business media for more than 20 years now, and it never fails to astound me just how many undiscovered gems we have in Shropshire, making waves around the world.
“Shropshire Business is all about trying to shine a light on the amazing entrepreneurs, investors, risk-takers and innovators who are busily getting on with doing amazing things – but sometimes forgetting to tell us about them.
“The thing which really sets Shropshire Business apart is our ability to go behind the scenes to find out more about local businesses and their people, and deliver in-depth news and analysis.
“Sometimes, companies will drive from Land’s End to John O’Groats in search of suppliers, when they’re totally unaware the exact same business is available right on their doorstep.
“We are proud champions of Shropshire who want to celebrate and support our local economy – which is why events such as Shropshire Bizfest are a perfect fit for us.”
Chief Executive of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, Richard Sheehan, said: “Shropshire Business are long standing patrons of the chamber and we are thrilled to have them as this year’s Shropshire Bizfests official media sponsor.”
Shropshire Business has made huge strides since launching in 2016. At the end last year, it was named Midlands Magazine of the Year at the Midlands Media Awards, beating off competition from much longer-established publications in the big towns and cities.
